Melesio "Mel" Casas (1929–2014) was an American artist whose Humanscape series — 153 large-scale paintings produced between 1965 and 1989 — stands as one of the most sustained and rigorous bodies of work in postwar American art. Working from San Antonio, Texas, Casas used the imagery of mass media, advertising, and popular culture to examine identity, representation, and the American experience.

Works from the Humanscape series are held in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the San Antonio Museum of Art, and the McNay Art Museum.
